Quilling Project Finished!

It's DONE!!!  I am so glad to have one of my Cultural Arts entries finished:o) Remember the other day when  I gave you a sneak peek and asked you to guess what I was making? One of you smarty-pants, and I'm not naming names;o) said it was a Smurf....well I would have to agree that it is the same color scheme as the Smurfs.....but, um, NO..it's not a Smurf:o)
Would you have ever guessed that this Smurf-looking thing,
would have been this?
Definitely NOT Smurfette;o) On the way home from Orlando I decided that S.R. needed a quilled Cinderella...don't ask why:o)
Anywhoodles, I used this picture of Cinderella as my guide.

Me likey:o) And so does S.R.!!

Now I need to get it framed so that it doesn't come apart. Poor S.R. won't see this again until Christmas morning.

                                                                                                ph. Ettore Manfredi

Last Friday, i had chance to meet one lovely couple from Italy, Daniela Pizzurro and Ettore Manfredi (you can check their websites and see their works). Both are photographers but with different interests, Daniela loves fashion and Ettore's big passion is reportage. They were on trip through Balkan countries and their last stop was Belgrade, where they spent the afternoon with me. :) They choose Kalemgdan ( place with lot of history) for photoshoot, and my choice was by the river, under one of our bridges and on it. The main reason for this little "project" was Daniela's curiosity, cause she never made fashion shooting outside Italy, and she thought that this would be a great opportunity to try. She started small " google research", looking for a fashion bloggers  from Belgrade, and that's how she found and choose me!:) Soon after that, i received email from her, we arranged our meeting, and now you have chance to see the results!
It was a really hot windy day, so i decided to wear floral dress with simple blue shirt, Bally flats,  cat eye sunglasses and probably one of my favorite bag this year, from Aldo. Simple, but still comfortable, i choose this instead of some elegant clothes, because this represents me, and what i wear on daily basis.
Should i say how much i love these photos, and how talented Daniela is? Even its the same outfit on them, i feel like every photo has some story  behind and i still can't decide which one is my favorite! Can you?
Huge thanks to Daniela and Ettore for spending great Friday afternoon and for making beautiful photos!
In the next post, you will see the second part with different outfit so keep following me ... ;)

 .... da počnemo ... ;)

Travel Pillow

I hope you all had a great weekend. Things around here are slightly less than crazy but truly bordering insanity;o) I have been busy with projects and being a homemaker:o) My best bud from high school sent me some pics the other day of a quick travel pillow idea she whipped up for her son. They had a long road trip ahead of them, so she needed something to keep her little man busy.
She hot glued a clipboard to a travel pillow.
Super simple!
I love that it opens up. Perfect for storing writing utensils and extra paper.
 Nift-o nifty, eh?
She really needs to start her own crafty blog! She always has clever ideas...maybe we can talk her into it;o)
I hope to share a Batman Cape table runner with you guys within the next day or two. I just need to take the time to make pictures:o)
Happy Tuesday...what's left of it;o)

In my previous post, i mention that i did some interesting things last Friday, and here is a sneak peek! Super sweet Italian photographer Daniela Pizzuro was in a short visit here ( in Belgrade) , and we made some photos! :) Today i received great news from her, that one photo is published in her portfolio on Vogue.it, so you can probably imagine how happy i am!?!! :) I will tell you the whole story soon as i get the rest of photos from that day, it will be really special post, probably with the most beautiful photos in my life, so stay tuned! ;)

U prethodnom postu sam vam pomenula, kako sam radila neke interesantne stvari prošlog petka, a sada imate priliku da vidite maleni deo! Stay tuned ... ;)

On last Friday, i did some interesting things in downtown, and can't wait to show you what is all about! On Saturday, i got from my mom this blouse and one oversized leopard shirt for being a good girl ... ;) Yesterday  i visited my grandparents and aunt, and after that my boyfriend and I went to have a drink by the river, where we took these beautiful photos right before the sunset. If you have chance, you should come and visit our charming city, you will enjoy for sure! Hope you will like photos, and background, i was really satisfied when i transferred photos on my laptop. Belgrade is beautiful! :)

Sunce, visoke temperature, ambrozija u punom jeku ( ja alergična) a dobro raspoloženje me još uvek drži ...
p.s. od danas možete pratiti blog i preko mejla ( sa desne strane "follow by email" ) ukoliko želite , tako ćete uvek biti obavešteni kada novi post bude objavljen, drugi dodatak je i Facebook "like button" ispod svakog teksta, gde možete direktno lajkovati i na taj način "share-ovati" :) , kao i "you might also like" dodatak koji vam nasumično nudi neke od starih postova da pogledate ....

What I am Working on...

Can you tell what this is?
 Or what it will be?
I am trying my hand at quilling. I have been working on my entries for the Homemakers' Cultural Arts Fair scheduled for the end of September. Qulling is one of the categories.
On our way back from FL, I decided I would make S.R. a picture using the art of quilling. It is very time consuming, but it makes beautiful art....let's hope that my first attempt looks like what I want it to;o)
Have a great weekend!!!

How to make an outfit post / the biggest issue of bloggers ...

set was made on Polyvore by me
1. If you wanna become a fashion blogger and start showing your own style ( create outfit post) , you gotta have Camera. The most wanted for bloggers are SLR cameras, with many functions and options. And the most important thing is that, they can make blurry background in photos, which are the biggest obsession for them (us). Better camera, automatically means better quality of photos, and it can affects on your blog popularity.
Many of you asked me for mine , i'm using Canon G12, and those cameras from G series are declared as one of the best for amateurs. It's small enough to fit in most of my bags, even clutches, but it's also "big" enough to provide me a good photos. With vary-angle lcd monitor that helps me a lot in many situations. But, don't forget this, the best camera is the one that fits your budget! You can try to save up some money, be patient, wait couple months and then buy, you will be really satisfied after that purchase, and not regret at all cause you missed some blazer, boots, etc ....  that season.
2. We solved this problem, now you have your camera, and wanna make outfit post for your fashion blog. The second important thing are people behind camera! For the most of the bloggers, especially famous one, that job is reserved for their boyfriends. And i can't help you if you don't have them, cause my "match maker skills "  from high school are a little bit rusty! ;) He has to be stylish as you, so you can snap a photo of him from time to time ( cause girls love to see them on your blog). ;) They learned every fashion word, every type of accessories, they know the differences between blue and electric blue, they know how to capture your details, to tell you what to do with your hair , etc ... Are you sure that they are men? ;) Ok, i don't wanna dig into those details, cause my opinion is a little bit different. Boyfriends are probably the best solution, you can see them everyday, they understand your needs, your wishes, they know you the best, but give them some break occasionally, they just wanna enjoy in some time with you ....
Besides them, you can ask some friend, sister, cousin to do that. But after couple shoots, they will realize how hard is, and probably they want answer when you call them anymore!;)
The third solution is to have tripod, take them every time with you, when you wanna make outfit post, or find some wall in front of your house/apartment, and start practicing. With this, you are risking to be called lunatic, crazy  or something similar, but common, you never seen a girl with tripod and camera in downtown, while she was making photos for her blog? ;)
3. Ok., you have your camera, your man or tripod, the next important thing that you need  is The Spot! Try to find some peaceful place, so you can relax, and start posing. Park in your neighborhood, great terrace, white wall, small empty street, place with tree alley perhaps, good wall or gate, sidewalk ... or some interesting place in your town. If you choose downtown, you are risking again, people will probably stare, make some comments, and soon you will get your audience even if you aren't famous. People are curious, so be prepared! Strike a pose! Left, right, up and down, sit, stay, hands and shoes, smile ... and you're done!
4. Camera, man or tripod, the spot, what's next? You should have something to wear! ;) Some people think that you are dressing like that because of your blog, and how blog made you/your style! Hellooou!?? We weren't naked before, we also used clothes, get dressed and were creative. So we made our blogs to show our style and creativity. Be yourself, pay attention to details, play with your clothes, enjoy, it should be fun! You don't need to have luxurious brands in your wardrobe ( yes, somehow, that's the most interesting thing for others to see) , it's important to have style, to know how to mix and match, to use one piece in different ways and show that to others, trying to become their inspiration.
5. Clean hair, nourished skin, neat finger and toenails, with or without nail polish, at least some basic make up, cause camera capture everything.
6. After you take a bath, get your hair, nails and make up done, get dressed, found the spot, perfect pose, used your boyfriend's skills, or tripod, made a bunch of photos with your camera, you gotta have a computer/laptop and good internet connection, when you come back at home! ;) You will transfer your photos to computer , choose the best ones,  edit and resize, and then upload to your blog! Labeled your clothes, write some short text, post it and share. Answer to all questions that you got through emails, comments, pages or twitter profiles and that's it!

You are probably asking why i wrote this ... I wanted to tell you how the whole process looks like, in reality but also in one funny way, for everyone who are thinking to start with blogging, or for those who are thinking that this is super easy, and disparage bloggers at all, making some inappropriate comments...
You said it's easy, piece of cake? Let us see you then! Most of the girls who are doing this doesn't get paid, don't have sponsors, free clothes etc ... But they are doing it from their heart, cause they love fashion and wanna share it with others.... And probably one of the most important things are, almost every girl that i met through my blog is well educated, studying on good Universities or they already graduated. Doing some jobs, having normal lives, and their blogs are place where they can relax, write about something they love, what they found, sharing some great information ... I found about so many interesting things, peoples, beautiful places, new technology, be inspired so many times and all of this, thanks to reading my favorite blogs! Probably, i will do it for a long, long time, make some better changes, new columns, every time when i get into another phase in my life, as im getting older.
Thanks to you, my lovely readers, this place wouldn't be complete, and i can't thank you enough for every  positive and constructive comment or suggestion that you left here .... Once again thank you for following me, and reading this huge text! Much love!

A danas, nešto sasvim drugačije! :)

Free-To-Me Crafts: Basket Weave Hair Bow Holder

The other day I saw the cutest tutorial on how to make a hair bow holder using ribbon and a picture frame. I thought that I had bookmarked it, but apparently not. I can't seem to find it anywhere. It was so cute!!
So I definitely cannot take credit for this idea...if any of you know who created it, let me know so I can do a link back, please!
Anyway, we were having an issue with S.R.'s hair bow holder. We were running out of room.

Here is what I made for her to fix the problem.

This project was of no cost to me. I had all of the materials on hand. A friend of mine gave me this picture frame a few months back. I am slowly becoming the person who everyone wants to give their junk to, and I secretly LOVE it!!! Hubs...not so much;o)
Any-whoodles, she was a sad little frame:o(

She needed some love, so I painted her with Krylon's Premium Silver Foil Metallic Spray Paint. It was the only full bottle of spray paint I had:o) I have a ton of ribbon my mother gave me, so I used coordinating ribbons and created a basket weave pattern and hot glued the ends just inside the lip of the frame where the glass usually rests.

This project took me 30 minutes to complete after painting, and was FREE! You really can't beat that:o)
Now we have more room for new hair bows!!
